7 Easy Methods To Get The Most Out Of Your Notary Website

Notary Website Tips

This article will help you get the most out of your Notary website. Imagine you’re standing in front of a giant wall filled with televisions. Each one blares loud messages and flashes obnoxious graphics . . . look at me, notice me, see me.

And in the center of it all – one clear, clean, quiet screen shines. An oasis of clarity in a cacophonous sea. Can you feel the change in focus and energy within this single description?

In the digital world, your notary website competes with countless others to attract clients and share information. But, rather than shout loudly, it pays to be the clear screen.

After all, your notary website is your storefront. It’s important to create an inviting space that clearly articulates the key information your target market needs to know. Here are a few tips to help you clear the clutter and stand out from the competition.

Stand Out from the Notary Competition Online

1. Let Visitors Know Immediately What You Do

Have you ever visited a website and left thinking, “I know they’re professional, efficient and organized – but, at what?” Don’t be THAT person.

If you’re a paralegal, say it with pride. Notary? State it with confidence. Make your service clear and easy to understand within the first 10 seconds of someone’s visit to your website.

For extra credit, make it easy for visitors to understand how to do business with you. Do potential clients need to call for an appointment or schedule online? Are there forms to complete prior to your time together?  Make this very clear, and you’re likely to hear from potential clients.

The easier it is to do business with you, the more business you’ll actually do!

2. Make ONE, Clear Call-To-Action

Click here! Sign up NOW! Want a freebie? Give us a call! Get your quote. With all of this going on, it’s no wonder potential clients have no idea what to do!

Choose a single CTA, like “call to schedule an appointment,” that helps your business grow the most. Then, use that message prominently throughout your notary website. Include it in your header, on the landing/home page and in other clearly visible places. Then, make it pop with a contrasting color from your existing palette and/or a motion feature on hover.

3. Include Detailed Business Information

Remember, not everyone does business the way that you do. Some people text some call, some email – by including all pertinent details, you make it easy for people to reach you in a way that’s most comfortable for them.

That said, including office hours, landline and mobile phone numbers, your physical office address, zip/area codes you serve, languages spoken and any additional services offered. We highly recommend creating a “Services” page that details available services and the specific conditions for each. (For example, Mobile Notary: service details, the areas served, special pricing or fees, etc.)

In this space, you may also elect to include specific services and areas of specialty: loan signings, hospital signings, legal research, etc.

4. Share Testimonials and Reviews

When you buy something from Amazon, you check the star rating and read the reviews. So, why wouldn’t you offer your potential customers the same experience?

Gather testimonials from your customers and place them throughout the notary website, especially on key pages like the home or service pages.

If you’re not sure how to get started, encourage customers to leave reviews on Yelp! and Google and embed the listing on your site. Screenshots work well, too!

Also, get in the habit of asking for feedback once your service agreement is complete. And don’t worry, your ask doesn’t have to be fancy. It can be as simple as stapling a note to their invoice to ask for a review or feedback.

Of course, if you do prefer something more technical, Survey Monkey is a great way to collect customer feedback. And, it’s free to get started!

5. Have a “Why Choose Us?” Section

We all need a little direction from time to time. Help ease your clients’ minds and use this space to highlight your specialties, what makes your services stellar, your unique value proposition and a few testimonials.

Just keep in mind that the tone and phrasing are a bit different than on your “About” page. Use a persuasive tone and confidently share the benefits of doing business with you.

6. FAQs are a Must

Sometimes, people come to your site looking for fast answers about hiring a paralegal or notary. Make it easy for them to get the information they need with a Frequently Asked Questions section that includes common queries and your response. This could also include fees, acceptable payment methods – like Venmo, Apple/Samsung Pay or credit/debit cards, mileage rates and so forth.

The information in this section may feel a little redundant to you since it also lives in other areas of your notary website. Put worry to bed and know that visitors appreciate a scannable, quick-info area where they can get the details of your services without much effort.

7. Step It Up With *Fancy* Features

Add a convenience factor with plug-ins and widgets – like live chat, form fills for free quotes or client portals for accessing account information. Additionally, clients can pay bills with tools like Dubsado or schedule their own appointments with Calendly.

Just make sure that you don’t overwhelm your guests with options on the home page. Spread these features throughout your site or let them have their own page for more focused browsing.

Finally, be sure to read the fine print of the add-ons you choose to ensure you’re not responsible for additional usage fees beyond the purchase price.

  1. Thank you for the helpful article. I just launched my notary website, cross-referenced it with your list, and I’m happy to see that I’ve hit all points except #4 (new notary, so I don’t have any testimonials, yet). I would also add:

    1) Make sure you’ve implemented SEO, as best you can. It will go a long way toward boosting your rankings in the search engines, increasing your visibility, and raising awareness that you exist. Yoast.com has lots of helpful articles to assist with this.

    2) Make sure your website copy is error-free. If you tell your website visitors that you “pay attention to detail, are thorough, and don’t make mistakes”, yet your site is riddled with typographical and grammatical errors…well, that’s a tough sell, and the quickest way to lose credibility.

Again, thanks for the helpful article!
